Today, we’re pleased to celebrate 40 years for the school that came to be known as Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics.
To celebrate this incredible achievement, we wanted to welcome our alumni and industry partners to Atelier Esthetique for an evening to honor this school and its community.

Meet Annette Hanson
Considered by many to be “the Julia Child of Esthetics,” Annette began her career by traveling through Europe and developing her skills. She eventually moved to New York City and opened the first Lancôme Institute in New York.
But providing the tools of esthetics was not enough; instead, she began to train students in the French tradition of esthetics.
In 1985, Annette opened what was at the time called the “Cosmetic Distribution and Postgraduate Training Facility for Skincare and Body Specialists,” a place where she could educate cosmetologists in the art of esthetics.
In September 1993, Annette officially spun the school off into its own business, christening it Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics.
Ever since, it has offered esthetics licensing to thousands of students in esthetics and associated programs such as waxing.
