Become a Gua Sha Facial Specialist

Gua Sha is a massage technique using a patented white jade tool for facial and neck rejuvenation based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) healing principles. This treatment is designed to relieve tension in the muscles of the face, boost blood circulation, and encourage lymphatic drainage to banish bloat. It helps break up fascia, the connective tissue that hugs muscles but can sometimes interfere with optimal circulation. The increase in circulation is said to increase hydration for that coveted youthful glow, and it even helps the skin to naturally purge blemish-causing dirt and oils.

Upon successful completion of this this workshop, attendees will receive a Gua Sha Facial training certificate as well as an opportunity to purchase additional supplies to perform the Gua Sha facial from the instructor.

What You Will Learn

Attendees will gain knowledge and receive guided hands-on practice for using the jade tool and learn the Meridian Gua Sha and Gua Sha local techniques. The following outlines the material and training covered in this workshop:

• Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine skin healing principles
• Neck Rejuvenation
• Face Lifting (forehead, cheek area, chin, and neck areas)
• Youth Line lifting
• Eye Rejuvenation
• Gua Sha for wrinkles
• Gua Sha for dark and aging spots
• Contraindications of Facial and Neck Gua Sha Practice issues and ethics

What You Will Receive in Your Training Kit

All workshop participants will receive a training kit that is included in the price of the workshop. The kit includes a white jade Gua Sha tool and a TCM-based natural herbal skin care start-up kit.

Eligibility and Requirements

Participants must possess an esthetician license or other professional licensing, including Cosmetologists (or equivalent professional governing body designation), Licensed Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practicing Nurses (LPN), Physicians’ Assistants (PA), Physician, or Massage Therapists. Exceptions may be made for graduate students in the above fields or students in their last quarter of study.
