At Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics, we offer Advanced Training and Continuing Education Courses in several modalities for skin care treatments. As technology and beauty trends evolve and advance, estheticians and other similarly licensed professionals must continue to refresh and expand their training to offer their clients the most up-to-date services and proper guidance and knowledge.
Eligibility and Requirements
Our advanced courses are designed for licensed estheticians or other professional licensing, including Cosmetologists (or equivalent professional governing body designation), Licensed Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practicing Nurse (LPN), Physicians’ Assistant (PA), Physician, Massage Therapist, or Acupuncturist (Laser Class only). Exceptions may be made for students in their last quarter of study or graduate students in the above fields.
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from plants for healing. Essential oils are concentrated extracts taken from the roots, leaves, seeds, or blossoms of plants. Each contains its own mix of active ingredients, and this mix determines what the oil is used for. Essential oils have been used for therapeutic purposes for nearly 6,000 years. The ancient Chinese, Indians, Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans used them in cosmetics, perfumes, and drugs. Essential oils were also commonly used for spiritual, therapeutic, hygienic, and ritualistic purposes.

Chemical peels are acid solutions applied to the epidermis that dissolve the outermost layer of the skin allowing it to peel off as the days pass. Ideal for treating skin conditions and imperfections, chemical peels are an excellent treatment for melasma, acne, sun damage, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles. Chemical peels are often referred as chemical exfoliation and epidermal exfoliation.
Laser hair removal is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures in the United States. Laser is actually an acronym that stands for “Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.” IPL is also commonly used for this type of hair removal treatment and stands for “Intense Pulsed Light.” Laser/IPL treatments are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, chin, back, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas by beaming beams highly concentrated light into hair follicles. Pigment in the follicles absorb the light that destroys the hair.
Microcurrent is a non-invasive, painless, and effective electrotherapy device that delivers tiny doses of healing current to local tissue. Studies suggest that microcurrent accelerates the healing process. Used by physicians, acupuncturists, chiropractors, physical therapists, and skincare professionals, microcurrent popularity continues to soar.
Microdermabrasion is an exfoliation treatment for rejuvenating the skin without the need for surgical facelifts. The treatment removes the upper layers of damaged and dying skin cells, which tend to give skin an overall dull appearance and betray signs of sun damage. During this procedure, the top layer of the epidermis is removed. Dead skin cells are subsequently vacuumed up, revealing healthy skin. The whole procedure is quick and painless, generally taking 30-45 minutes, depending on the condition of the skin. This treatment can be used to target specific problems like dark spots on face, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation induced by pregnancy.
This course is designed for the licensed esthetician or professional who has an entrepreneurial spirit and fortitude to running a business. This course focuses on financial management, business and marketing plans, creating daily spa and wellness structure, and retail management.
