Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) with Anne Bramham

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) with Anne Bramham

Therapist and esthetician training's taught by Advanced Spa Therapy Education Certification Council (ASTECC) founder, Anne Bramham. Training's are approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a Continuing Education Provider.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
MLD consists of rhythmical movements using nothing but your fingertips. The lymphatic system is the secondary circulatory system known as the body's defender and garbage collector. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) encourages the elimination of metabolic waste, excess fluid, and proteins while accelerating the flow of fresh oxygen and nutrients.

Working on the lymphatics of the face and neck, not the muscles, MLD has an entirely different technique, a gentle stretching of the skin - which can only be taught by an Expert Certified Instructor. MLD is the perfect bridge between esthetics and therapy - a modality which delivers relaxation, rejuvenation, detoxifying drainage and skin healing. It is great to treat clients with puffy skin (due to sinusitis, smoking, allergies, a cold). And for the swelling of the face and neck following plastic surgery, MLD is the only treatment able to be used with incredible results.

In addition to the basic theory behind MLD, and basic practical application, you will learn (theory and practical):

  • Function of the lymph system
  • Mobilizing lymph
  • Detoxification
  • Lymphatic vessels and their locations
  • Clinical case studies
  • Indications and contraindications

A precise, non-invasive, light-touch therapy recognized by the international esthetic, clinical wellness and medical communities, MLD is indicated for numerous inflammatory conditions including acne, scars, burns, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, puffy eyes and post cosmetic recovery.

Easily incorporated into a repertoire of basic skin care, MLD encourages the elimination of metabolic waste while accelerating the flow of fresh oxygen and nutrients. Lecture details the basic anatomy and physiology of the lymph vessel system, MLD’s effects, indications and contraindications. Practical training includes instruction in MLD techniques and neck and face protocols.   20 Hours.

Successfully completing the BASIC workshop leads to a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION.  Participants will receive a Certificate issued by the instructor, Anne Bramham, from ASTECC.

These workshops are not affiliated with Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics and are therefore not accredited by NACCAS nor licensed by the State of New York.

Testimonial from a MLD Student

"Ms. Hanson, the Basic MLD class was incredibly informative. I really feel like my confidence has risen tenfold. Anne was inspiring, comforting and warm. She jumped right in when we needed help, and was right there to give us a pat on the back when we were doing a good job. I was really happy that the class was so small, because I really felt like we each got individual attention from Anne that might not have been possible if the class were any bigger. Thank you so much for offering this wonderful class!"~ Beth Cohen
